As vice president of Lovell Public Relations (LPR), Tresa Hardt brings more than a decade of strategic communications experience to the table. Her accomplished background ranges from media relations, event planning, crisis management, internal communications, government relations, and public affairs/advocacy. She has managed communications efforts on a variety of scales, ranging from local North Texas events and NYC media tours to multi-market campaigns and national news conferences at venues like the National Press Club, Capitol Hill and even the White House.


Hardt’s knack for positioning and creative, proactive pitching has secured countless national media placements including multiple segments on all of the network morning shows such as ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today Show, as well as CNN, New York Times, USA Today, Washington Post, and People magazine, among countless others. Should a tragedy occur, Hardt brings expert skills in crisis communications and has developed and conducted numerous trainings on media interview techniques and media advocacy, as well as specialized topics such as crime victims and the media. A gifted writer, she has been published in a public relations textbook and as a ghostwriter in numerous national publications. 


At LPR, Hardt oversees accounts while enjoying a hands-on approach with clients. Working with the talented agency team, she has created and implemented a number of strategic communications plans and campaigns to meet client’s goals. Whether representing corporations, non-profits or associations, clients express confidence on Hardt’s vision and ability to achieve positive results. A recent example: tripling media impressions for a holiday consumer research campaign within one year. 


For several years, Hardt served as the national director of communications for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) where she managed internal and external communications for the well-known organization with 600 affiliates. She was pivotal in promoting virtually every aspect of the mission and worked to ensure consistency and effectiveness in its messages nationwide.  With vast experience in public affairs and media advocacy, Hardt played a major role in passage of numerous pieces of federal and state-specific traffic safety legislation. She also helped to develop national public health and education campaigns. Hardt has worked on cause-related marketing partnerships with corporations ranging from General Motors to General Mills. While at MADD, she also oversaw efforts ranging from the president’s scheduling and speechwriting to nationally-award-winning publications and Web-based communications.


Hardt began her career in healthcare public relations with a specific interest in media relations at the peak of healthcare reform. She is a graduate of Southern Methodist University where she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). She resides in Dallas with her husband, young daughter and their friendly black Labrador Retriever.
